Meet Chubs, the Chubby Artist mascot! He’s what I call a “mouse doodle”: I just quickly pumped him out with nothing more than Photoshop and a few swishes of the mouse. No graphic tablets (mine isn’t connected all the time) or scanned hand sketches on paper (the way I usually prefer to do it)… just swish swish swi-swi-swish — and welcome Chubs!

He’s still pretty crude and rough, but so far, I like what I see. Especially for something that only took a few short minutes to produce. You?

OK, so I had more grandiose plans originally for producing a “pro logo quality” Chubs. Just looking for a nice block of time to set aside and free up to complete the “project.” But luckily, I was messing around with some digital photographs and had Photoshop already fired up and ready, so what the hey… click swish.

The rest is history. Well, maybe. Maybe Chubs will get tired of just hanging around as the site progresses, and we’ll be needing a replacement. Who knows?

In the meantime, as soon as I tear myself away from “real work,” I’ll get Chubs all prepped and modeling for a few “branded” Chubby Artist products, courtesy of CafePress.
